TUNING-IN
Awareness · Perception · Creation
Tuning-in is a practice of becoming attentive to a place, its environment and one’s own presence within it. It involves exploring different senses and layers of awareness, connecting our perception of the outside world with our inner landscapes — intuitions, emotions, memories and embodied knowledge.
When we enter a forest or an open field, we become part of that environment. We are always embedded in a landscape and in an ecosystem of relationships. Our presence affects the surroundings, while the surroundings in turn affect us. This continuous exchange can become the starting point for creative work.
Through listening and attentive observation, we will explore how a place can influence artistic processes and how our own actions, sounds and movements can enter into dialogue with the environment.
The workshop is intended for musicians, dancers, performers, visual artists, and anyone interested in developing creative approaches to working with and within the natural environment.
Maximum number of participants: 4
Please bring whatever you would like to work with — instruments, paper, pens, recording equipment, costumes, or other materials.
The workshop will take place entirely outdoors. Please bring suitable footwear and weather-appropriate clothing, including rain gear.
